In Kyiv on February 5, Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine Shigeki Sumi and Ukraine’s Minister of Economy and Trade Aivaras Abromavicius plans to sign an agreement on protection of investment.
The agreement was proposed by Japan and should trigger more Japanese investment to Ukraine’s economy.
“Signing of the document is a response to the repeated requests from Japanese companies,” Japan’s Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida said at a press conference on Tuesday.
As it well known Japan provided $ 1.5 billion of financial assistance to Ukraine and intended to provide Ukraine with additional financial aid package worth $300 million to replenish foreign exchange reserves of the National Bank of Ukraine.
Besides in future government of Japan plans to give for infrastructure projects $16.6 million in grants.
