Combined Russian-separatist forces launched about 100 shells on the Ukrainian positions in the Donetsk sector in the last day, according to Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman for the Anti-Terrorist Operation Andriy Lysenko.
”In the Donetsk sector, the fighting took place in two areas yesterday – Luhanske and Avdiyivka. The occupiers used heavy weapons. Over the past day, they launched about 100 mortar shells of various calibers on our positions. The lion`s share of enemy attacks came exactly on the Avdiyivka industrial zone. Traditionally, the enemy was shooting from the east,” he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday, an UNIAN correspondent reported.
According to Lysenko, the enemy launched six attacks in the Donetsk sector over the last 24 hours, four of which involved heavy weapons.

In addition, according to the speaker, the occupiers committed a series of provocations in Novo-Oleksandrivka during the day.
At the same time, it was quiet on the Bakhmutka highway in Stanytsia Luhanska yesterday, he said.
In the Luhansk sector, nine enemy attacks have been recorded, three of which with the use of heavy weapons.
Lysenko added that in the Mariupol sector, there was a tendency to a decrease in intensity of enemy fire from heavy weapons. In particular, the occupiers launched about 20 mortar shells on the Ukrainian positions in Krasnohorivka and Pavlopil, which, according to Lysenko, ”several tens of times less than a week ago.”
However, in Vodiane and Shyrokyne, which are on the southern borders of this direction, the enemy is actively using a sniper fire.
”In general, the situation is tense at all defensive lines, but the main battlefield, as before, is conducted in the far north and south. In the Mariupol sector, it was recorded 20 enemy attacks in the last day, four of which with the use of heavy weapons,” Lysenko said.
