Combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 40 times in the past 24 hours, including 20 times in the Mariupol sector, 12 times in the Luhansk sector, and eight times in the Donetsk sector, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) headquarters.
In the Luhansk sector, the enemy resorted to armed provocations near the villages of Novo-Oleksandrivka, Novozvanivka, Triokhizbenka, and Stanytsia Luhanska, using small arms, machine guns and grenade launchers. The militants also fired banned 120mm mortars on Novo-Oleksandrivka and Novozvanivka.
”In the Donetsk sector, the occupiers fired rocket-propelled grenades and small arms on the town of Avdiyivka, and the villages of Pisky, Opytne, Novhorodske, and Verkhniotoretske. They also opened fire from 82mm mortars near Avdiyivka and Verkhniotoretske,” the headquarters said.
In the Mariupol sector, Russia`s hybrid military forces resorted to armed provocations near the town of Maryinka, and the villages of Vodiane, Chermalyk, Shyrokyne, Hnutove, Pavlopil, and Starohnativka. In addition to rocket-propelled grenades and small arms, they used 82mm mortars near the village of Taramchuk. Furthermore, a sniper was active near Maryinka, Shyrokyne, and Hnutove.
The Ukrainian army spotted four enemy UAVs over Donbas in the last day, the press center said.
