“Mine-related civilian casualties continue to be reported daily in Ukraine. The most affected areas are Kherson and Kharkiv oblasts: areas Russia has previously occupied,” tweeted the British Ministry of Defence.
According to British Intelligence, the risk of mine incidents among civilians will increase with the arrival of spring and an increase in the number of people engaged in agricultural activities in Ukraine.
“Over 750 mine related casualties among civilians have been reported since the start of the invasion – one in eight has involved a child. It will likely take at least a decade to clear Ukraine of mines,” informed the British Ministry of Defence.
In addition, the British Ministry of Defence noted in a new report that fierce fighting continues along the front line in Donbas. However, there is a realistic possibility that Russia has reduced the number of troops and is reducing offensive actions around the city of Donetsk, most likely to divert resources to the Bakhmut direction.
