Oleksandra Havrylko, the press officer of the police of the Donetsk region of Ukraine noted that 43 burial sites have been found in the liberated territories of the Donetsk region (east of Ukraine), in particular in Lyman as of October 17, 2022.

“For example, we know about two separate locations with mass burials of Ukrainian civilians and soldiers. Also, the police constantly receive information from residents about burials in yards and gardens,” said the press officer of the police of the Donetsk region of Ukraine.
She added that the exhumation work is currently ongoing. Forensic investigators have already exhumed 34 bodies of Ukrainian servicemen killed by Russian troops at one of the mass burial sites. The exhumation of the bodies of civilians is on the way.
Earlier, it was noted that about 200 single graves and one mass grave were found in Lyman. There can be both military and civilians in the mass grave, the exact number has not yet been established.
