“Two Polish volunteers, who were injured in Ukraine, were taken to a clinical hospital in Lublin on Tuesday afternoon,” said the spokesman for the Ministry of Health of Poland.

According to Wojciech Andrusiewicz, the wounded – a man and a woman – were engaged in the delivery of humanitarian aid in the front-line territories of Ukraine.

“They were unloading aid for the population from the car when a mortar shell exploded nearby. Unfortunately, in the case of the injured woman, she ended in the amputation of the shin. The man has a bullet shrapnel wound,” added the spokesman for the Ministry of Health of Poland.

Upon arrival in Poland, the Minister of Health, Adam Niedzielski, also spoke with the wounded Poles.
