Operational report August 10, 2022 by the General Staff of AFU on the Russian invasion of Ukraine

The brave Ukrainian people’s resistance to a Russian military invasion is still going strong on day 168.

The situation remained unchanged in the direction of Volyn/Polissia in Ukraine. The first phase of combined operational-tactical training involving combat shooting between the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus is scheduled to take place until August 11, 2022. There is a possibility that the Russian invadors may launch missile and aircraft attacks from the territory and airspace of the Republic of Belarus.

The Russian army opened fire on the barrel artillery at Senkivka in Chernihiv region in the direction of Siverskyi.

Russian tanks, barrel artillery, and jet artillery have shelled in the Kharkiv direction in the vicinity of the towns of Udy, Dementiyivka, Nove, Pytomnyk, Ruski Tyshky, Peremoga, Verhniy Saltiv, Staryi Saltiv, Mospanove, Stara Hnylytsa, Husarivka, Korobochkyne, Piatyhirske.

Russian occupiers engaged in offensive engagements in the direction of Veterynarne – Udy in an effort to strengthen their tactical position, but they failed, incurred losses, and withdrew. Combat is still taking place in the direction of Bairak-Husarivka.

Russian troops opened fire on the towns of Velyka Komyshuvakha, Dmytrivka, Karnauhivka, Dovhenke, Virnopillia, Nova Dmytrivka, Bohorodychne, and Dolyna in the direction of Sloviansk.

The artillery firing was used by the army of the Russian Federation near the Ukrainian towns of Siversk, Hryhorivka, Verkhnokamyansk, Sydorove, and Rayhorod in the direction of Kramatorsk.

The region around the communities of Konstantynivka, Bakhmut, Ivano-Dariyivka, Pokrovske, Zaitseve, Kodema, Kurdyumivka, Bakhmutske, Soledar, Yakovlivka, and Vershyna was being shelled by Russian tanks, jet artillery, and barrels from the invading force in the direction of Bakhmut.

Russian shelling in the vicinity of Mariinka, Avdiyivka, Opetne, Pisky, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Petrovske, Netaylove, and Krasnohorivka was reported in the Avdiivka direction. Near Krasnohorivka and Mariyinka, Russian aviation’s hostile aircraft were active.

Fighting continues as the Russian army makes an effort to resume their advance in the direction of Donetsk-Pisky. It took the initiative and directed the attack in the directions of Mineralne and Spartak-Avdiyivka.

The Russian occupying forces fired in the Novopavlivsk and Zaporizhia directions from the tanks, barrels, and jet artillery positions in the villages of Kostantynopolske, Novomykhaylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Velykomykhaylivka, Pavlivka, Volodymyrivka, Shevchenko, Prychystivka, Velyka Novosilka, Burlatsk. In the vicinity of Pavlivka, Vuhledar, and Novosilka, Russian units conducted airstrikes.

Russia launched attacks in the South-Buh direction, engaging in aerial attacks close to Novohryhorivka, Andriyivka, and Olhyne as well as firing at tanks and various calibres of artillery along the line of battle contact. It provided illigal air intelligence using drones.

2 Russian Kalibr-type sea-based cruise missile carriers are prepared to fire highly accurate warheads in the Black Sea.

On military objects and important infrastructure locations in Ukraine, Russian missile attacks are a possibility.

While the attack planes of the Ukrainian Air Force continue to sweep Ukrainian airspace from the Russian invasion, Ukrainian soldiers are receiving fire support from the air in some of their operational locations.
