The European Parliament may vote for Ukraine visa-free regime on February 1, 2017

In the case of a positive completion of the inter-institutional negotiations on granting Ukraine a visa-free regime, the European Parliament may vote this issue February 1 of next year, according to the website of the EP.

The website states the approximate date of the plenary session, when the Ukraine visa liberalization issue may be considered, as ”February 1, 2017.”

As reported earlier, on Thursday, December 15, the European Parliament is expected to hold to vote on the EU`s visa waiver suspension mechanism for the third countries. The adoption of the mechanism is a prerequisite to further address the issue of granting Ukraine a visa-free regime.

After that, the inter-institutional negotiations are to begin between the European Parliament, the EU Council and the country chairing the EU.
