President of Ukraine Poroshenko to meet with Trump in February 2017 – the Presidential Administration

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko may meet with the 45th U.S. President, Donald J. Trump, in February 2017, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Kostyantyn Yeliseyev said in an interview with Obozrevatel.

”A more specific discussion will be held after the inauguration ceremony. We are preparing Poroshenko`s visit to the U.S. in February 2017,” Yeliseyev said.

The offcials comment on telephone conversation of the two leaders:

”The `first did not turn out to be the worst`, so that`s good. The newly-elected president of the USA, of course, asked about the situation in Donbas. It was obvious that Donald Trump was starting to study the Ukrainian dossier. It is also great. The very fact that this conversation was held is the evidence that Trump is ready to build a bilateral dialogue. I would not want to make any far-reaching conclusions, but I believe the next steps should consolidate this trend,” said the deputy head of the Presidential Administration.
