Ukraine will receive more than $26 million from the USA for law enforcement justice sector reform

The US Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey R. Pyatt and Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov signed the agreement that will help to reform Ukrainian Interior Ministry.

Geoffrey Pyatt reported about this on his official Twitter:

As it is very important to fight corruption in Ukraine these money will be used to provide reforms in Ukraine with the help of The U.S. Department of Justice and the FBI that are ready to cooparate with the the Prosecutor General’s Office.

At a press release in Kyiv, Ukraine, on Friday, March 13, 2015 US Ambassador to Ukraine admitted that the possibility to provide Ukraine with lethal weapons is not excluded.

“We do not exclude regarding our support in Ukraine’s security and defence sector”, noted Geoffrey Pyatt.

Geoffrey R. Pyatt also noted that the USA last year provided Ukraine with $199 million of financial aid in fight with pro-Russian terrorists. This money were spent on equipment and training the Ukrainian Armed Forces. And last week it was reported that US would support Ukraine in the conflict against pro-Russian terrorists with more non-lethal aid such as radios, first-aid kits, surveillance drones, countermortar radar systems, military ambulances, 30 armored Humvees and 300 unarmored Humvees.
