The former Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Communist Party Sergiy Gordienko was arrested on March 10, 2015. He was the head of the Counting Commission during the voting MPs for dictatorial laws against civilians on January 16, 2014.
As the statement of Pechersk District Court of Kyiv says, Sergiy Gordienko signed the Counting Commission protocol of the laws on January 16, 2014 aimed at preventing peaceful protests that were not voted in practice:
“The Prosecutor General’s Office served a notice of suspicion to the former Verkhovna Rada deputy and Counting Commission secretary in committing a crime under part 2 of the Article 364 (abuse of power or official position) and part 2 of the Article 366 (document forgery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine within the pre-trial criminal proceedings initiated on the organization and conduction of legislation enacted in the Verkhovna Rada January 16, 2014 aimed at preventing peaceful protests.”
“The mentioned lawmaker was the secretary of the Counting Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and together with other members signed the Counting Commission protocol, which actually granted these laws the status of the official document. Investigators have reasons to believe that these laws were not voted in practice.”
Pechersky District Court 03.10.2015 suspects for Sergiy Gordienko a preventive measure in the form of detention, and set a bail of about 100,000 hryvnia (about $4,000). The case is under investigation.
