Pro-Russian terrorists didn’t allow Ukrainian rescuers to save miners’ lives at the Zasyadko coal mine in Donetsk Region

The tragedy happened on March 4, 2015, at 5:20 a.m. because of the methane gas explosion at the Zasyadko coal mine in Donetsk Region that now is under the pro-Russian terrorists’ control.

The Rada speaker Volodymyr Hroisman reported that the fate of 32 miners remains unknown. The officials from the terrorists’ organization in Donetsk said that their rescuers cannot work there because of poisonous gas:

“According to preliminary data, more than 30 miners were killed. The rescuers cannot reach the explosion site because of poisonous gas,” answered the terrorists.

Probably the pro-Russian terrorists doesn’t have resources and specialists to deal with the disaster and help the trapped miners.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko called for free access to the mine for Ukrainian rescuers to save the miners’ lives.

As Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk reported Ukrainian rescue workers had been sent to the place of tragedy by the central authorities:

“but the Russian terrorists did not let them reach the scene of the accident,” said Arseny Yatsenyuk

A trade union official states that in the mine at the time of the explosion were 230 workers and 47 people are still inside the mine.

The Zasyadko coal mine is one of Ukraine’s largest and the most dangerous. This is not the first tragedy at this mine. A methane explosion in 2006 killed 13 miners and injured dozens, and in 2007 killed 106 miners, and injured 56.
