Ukraine`s state and government-guaranteed debt, estimated in U.S. dollars, rose by 0.78%, to $71.76 billion, as of February 28, according to the Ukrainian Finance Ministry`s website.
The debt in the hryvnia equivalent is estimated at UAH 1.941 trillion.
The ministry claims that the main reason for the growth of the national debt in February was the additional capitalization of state-owned Ukreximbank, Oschadbank, and PrivatBank.
Earlier, the total amount of Ukraine`s state and state-guaranteed debt as of late January 2017 stood at $71.21 billion.
