The American politician Adam Schiff, a member of the House of Representatives of the US Democratic Party Congressman, said that in case if the U.S. President Donald Trump tries to soften sanctions against Russia then sanctions will be even stronger.
Adam Schiff stated in an interview with ABC that Donald Trump has to begin to trust the U.S. intelligence agencies. He also stated that providing of sanctions against the Russian Federation is not over and Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham will present them even more:
“We believe that more must be done. We do not think that, frankly, sufficient steps for deterrence were taken. You’ll see support for tougher sanctions on the part of both parties in Congress,” stated the American politician.
Recently at the beginning of 2017 U.S. senators Lindsey Graham, John McCain, and Amy Klobuchar, officially visited Georgia, and announced that they would seek from Congress the imposition of more severe sanctions against the Russian Federation and Putin.
“We urge our colleagues to impose more significant and severe sanctions against Russia for its hacker attacks on the United States,” McCain stated.
“We hope to make 2017 a year of offense. We believe that Putin has hacked into our elections in America, that he’s trying to undermine democracy all over the world, and it’s time for new sanctions to hit him hard as an individual—his energy sector, his banking sector. It is time to push back against Putin, but be a better friend to our allies over here, including Georgia, to be more helpful. So 2017 is a year of offense, and we’re going to tell our colleagues what’s at stake if we don’t push back,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham.
