First Deputy General Prosecutor Dmytro Storozhuk has told a Kyiv briefing that the Joint Investigation Team is ready to ensure protection of all witnesses who can provide information on those involved in the destruction of the Malaysian Airlines passenger aircraft. Also, the PGO released audio recordings of conversations between the persons likely involved in the MH17 downing, an UNIAN correspondent reports.
Storozhuk has noted that the investigation is interested in the identification of a person named in conversations as ”Andrei Ivanovich” (call sign ”Orion”) and ”Nikolai Fedorovich” (call sign ”Dolphin”).
According to him, these people have been partly identified but their identities are not verified.
During the briefing, an audio recording of the conversation between these individuals has been demonstrated. In the conversation, the two men discuss the transportation of a certain cargo, which they ”need to disguise and take.”

Boeing 777 of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 Amsterdam – Kuala Lumpur was shot down July 17, 2014 over the militant-occupied territory of Donetsk region. All 298 people on board were killed in a crash – citizens of 10 countries. The majority of the victims (196) were the citizens of the Netherlands. The Dutch Safety Board October 13, 2015 issued a report on the causes of the crash. It was revealed that the plane was shot down by a Buk anti-aircraft missile system.
The Joint Investigation Team in its report published September 28, 2016 said that the plane had been shot down by the Russian Buk, imported to Ukraine from Russia.
