Slovakia`s gas operator Eustream has announced an increase of gas exports to Ukraine by 2.8 million cubic meters, according to the company`s report.
The operator of Slovakia`s gas transportation system, Eustream, will increase capacity for gas transmission to Ukraine in the first quarter of 2017 by 2.8 million cubic meters per day, the company press service reported.
The message says that at 12:00 on Monday, December 5, 2016, ”the additional capacity will be published on the web page of Eustream and made available for online-booking platform via Eustream customer zone”.
As of December 2, Ukraine`s gas imports from Slovakia amount to some 42.7 million cubic meters per day.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine late November 2015 refused from purchasing gas in Russia. In 2015, Ukraine doubled its gas imports from Europe compared to 2014 – up to 10.3 billion cubic meters, at the same time shrinking purchases in Russia by 2.3 times.
According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, in 2015 Ukraine imported 16.4 bcm of gas, which is 15.8% less than in 2014.
