Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has had a telephone conversation with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden during which they discussed the importance of further policy of active engagement of the U.S. side in facilitating the implementation of the Minsk peace agreements on Donbas and restoration of Ukraine`s territorial integrity, according to the presidential press service.
Poroshenko also briefed Biden on the outcome of a recent meeting of the Normandy Four leaders (Ukraine, Germany, France and Russia) in Berlin.
The Ukrainian president reiterated the need for strengthening transatlantic unity to pursue a consolidated policy of sanctions against Russia due to ongoing aggression in Donbas and the occupation of Crimea.
What is more, the sides touched on the pace of Ukrainian reforms and their further support by the United States.
21 September Biden said on interview that Ukraine must change the Constitution of Ukraine and hold elections in Donbas sooner or later. In this interview once again he complained (see from 2:00) that Ukraine is “totally corrupt system” and President Poroshenko refused to fire corrupted Prosecutor General of Ukraine until Biden said: “Petro, you’re not getting your billion dollars [loan]”.
