German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s visit to Ukraine on August 23 this year is unusual.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said this at a briefing on Monday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“As for the chancellor’s visit, it is an unusual visit, which is planned just before the national holiday. I want to emphasize that it is an unusual visit… The visit is the result of very close personal contacts of the Ukrainian president and the German chancellor… Knowing German political and diplomatic tradition, I can say that it’s an absolutely unique fact,” Klimkin said.
