Russian proxies attack Ukraine 43 times in last day amid escalation

The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 43 times in the past 24 hours, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.
In the Donetsk sector, the Russian-backed mercenaries fired from all types of small arms and mortars of various calibers on the Ukrainian defenders near the town of Avdiyivka, and the villages of Pisky and Opytne. At about 22:00 Kyiv time, violating the Minsk agreements, they started firing powerful 152mm artillery systems, the ATO HQ said in an update as of 06:00 Kyiv time on June 9.
The militants fired grenade launchers of various systems and small arms on the Ukrainian positions near the villages of Luhanske and Novhorodske, as well as heavy mortars near the villages of Maiorsk and Zaitseve.
In the Mariupol sector, after dark, the occupiers repeatedly fired 122 mm self-propelled guns on the Ukrainian fortified positions near the village of Novotroyitske, as well as 82mm mortars near the village of Pavlopil and the town of Maryinka. In addition, the enemy fired heavy machine guns on the Ukrainian positions near the villages of Talakivka and Shyrokyne.
The illegal armed groups violated the ceasefire in Luhansk region. They fired small arms and rocket-propelled grenades on the Ukrainian troops near the village of Novozvanivka.
In some cases, the Ukrainian units were forced to return fire in order to put out the enemy`s activity.
