Feeling the criticality of the situation, the Russians stepped up provocations on the border with Ukraine, periodically ordering their fighter planes off ground, Ukrainian National Security and Defence Council (NSDC) Information and Analysis Center spokesman Andriy Lysenko told reporters in Kyiv on Thursday.
“Two fighters of the Russian Armed Forces periodically take off from a military airfield in Valuyki, Belgorod region. One of the aircraft runs in a westerly direction along the border with Ukraine, the other – in the east, there are cases of crossing Ukraine’s airspace,” Lysenko said.
