The Ukrainian National Security and Defence Council (NSDC) urges people living in the area of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) not to pick up anything from the ground, as militants used illegal mines, and carry out explanatory work with children.
Ukrainian National Security and Defence Council (NSDC) Information and Analysis Center spokesman Andriy Lysenko told this to reporters in Kyiv on Thursday.
“We are appealing to parents and citizens who yet remain in the ATO area: terrorists started to use mines prohibited by international conventions. Therefore we urge you not to pick up suspicious items, including children’s toys, lighters, mini radio receivers, and even attractive things. They can be mined,” Lysenko said.
