President calls on government to simplify conditions for doing business

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has called on the government to step up reform of regulatory policy and take immediate steps for this purpose, the presidential press service has reported.
“I draw your attention to the need for the speedy launch by the government of real processes of deregulation in the state,” he said in a letter to Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk.
Poroshenko said that the delay in the launch of reforms in this area was unacceptable. “I insistently ask you, within your competence, to immediately take comprehensive measures aimed at significantly simplifying the conditions for doing business in Ukraine,” he said.
In particular, the Cabinet of Ministers should significantly reduce the number of regulatory agencies, cut the number of inspections on business entities, cancel permits, licenses and other documents that create unnecessary regulatory barriers to doing business in Ukraine, Poroshenko said.
He also pointed to the creation of a favorable investment climate and proper conditions for small and medium businesses.
