Protesters near the Verkhovna Rada demand amendments to the election law and lustration of officials.
As a Ukrinform correspondent reported, public activists hold posters: “New Elections – New Rules!” “We Demand Lustration!” “Lustration – Cleanup! and others.
“We demand lustration and amendments to the election law so that the elections were held according to new rules. This will help completely change the situation in Ukraine. It is important to receive an absolutely new and qualitative parliament in autumn. Therefore, it is necessary to set a threshold even less that 3%. Also, political forces must be controlled by the society and tell about the funds, spent by them for their political campaigns. Elections must be held by open lists,” participant in the meeting and coordinator of the “Resuscitation Package of Reforms” Hanna Hopko said in a conversation with a Ukrinform correspondent.
Svoboda representatives hold an action separately near the parliament walls, demanding to adopt the lustration law.
The police cordon surrounded the Verkhovna Rada building to avoid provocations.
