The state strengthened social protection of servicemen, mobilized to the ATO zone, and members of their families. In particular, payment of one-time allowance will be increased to families of deceased servicemen.
Head of the department for military and social work of the Main Personnel Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Colonel Vitaliy Holota told in an interview to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“A one-time allowance is granted and paid to the amount of the 500 fold subsistence minimum, established by law for able-bodied persons. In case of injury or death of the soldier, conscript or reservist, it is UAH 609,000,” Holota said.
At the same time, he noted that such assistance does not depend on the rank the military, his position or seniority, as well as the type of his military service – conscript, contract or by mobilization.
“And this is completely fair in social terms,” Holota added.
In addition, he said that payment of allowances is held by regional military commissariats in equal shares to family members, parents and dependents of the deceased serviceman (transferred to bank accounts).
“Members of the family of the deceased soldier will also receive accrued, but not received on the day of the death of servicemen cash allowance (including for the entire month during which a soldier was killed). Families are also provided with an allowance of UAH 500 to conduct the burial,” Holota summed up.
