NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg arrived in the capital of Ukraine on April 20, 2023. He met with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Jens Stoltenberg emphasized NATO’s support for Ukraine in its war with Russia.

“An honour to be back in Kyiv & meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Ukraine’s rightful place is in NATO, and over time our support will help to make this possible. We stand by you today & for the long haul,” tweeted NATO Secretary General.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the Alliance and its allies will continue to support Ukraine in the fight against unprovoked Russian aggression.
“Allies are now delivering more jets, tanks, and armoured vehicles, and NATO’s Ukraine fund is providing urgent support. All of this is making a real difference on the battlefield today,” noted Jens Stoltenberg.
According to Jens Stoltenberg, Ukraine’s membership in NATO will be on the agenda of the summit in Vilnius but now the main thing for the Alliance is to ensure Ukraine’s victory.
“A multi-year support initiative will help Ukraine transition from Soviet-era equipment and doctrines to NATO standards, and ensure full interoperability with the Alliance,” added the press service of NATO.
NATO Secretary General also visited Bucha (a city in the Kyiv region) which was under Russian occupation. The seen consequences of the destruction and crimes committed in the city by Russian military deeply impressed the Secretary General.
