From now, Ukraine has the opportunity, if necessary, to receive technical assistance with electricity not only from neighboring countries but also from other EU countries.
“It [agreement — ed.] allows Ukrenergo to apply for help in unforeseen situations, such as Russian attacks on the company’s energy infrastructure,” reported an electricity transmission system operator in Ukraine.
It is about the urgent supply of electricity from another country at the request of the system operator in the event that internal reserves and means to avoid the simultaneous shutdown of a large number of consumers have already been exhausted.
The energy experts also noted that this energy aid is not an import of electricity because it is an emergency measure to overcome the out-of-state situation and the need for it cannot be predicted in advance.
