The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Dmytro Zhyvytskyi said that Russian troops shelled the railway in Vorozhba and the house of a large family in the Esman community in the Sumy region (northeastern Ukraine) on January 23, 2023. As a result, a woman was killed and two civilians were injured.

“10 shells actually exploded in the center of Vorozhba. There was a direct hit in an apartment building. One of the apartments was completely destroyed – a Russian shell “arrived” there. Three more apartments have significant damage,” emphasized the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
As a result of the Russian shelling, the commercial premises of local residents were destroyed, the gas pipeline, electric lines, railway premises and tracks were damaged.
In addition, Russian troops shelled the house of a large family in the Sumy region, the mother was killed, and two members of the family were wounded.
“There were 10 “arrivals” from barrel artillery, one of the shells hit the home of local residents. At the moment, it is known that a young woman was killed at the scene of the explosion. Two more wounded are currently being evacuated to the nearest hospital,” added Dmytro Zhyvytskyi.
