The Vice-President of the EC noted that the economic consequences of the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine would continue to dominate the agenda of the European Union.

“We are moving forward with macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in 2023. The first tranche of €3 billion is being disbursed today without any conditions attached to help Ukraine cover its most urgent needs. It is very important to help Ukraine survive this winter. In the future, we foresee a stable flow of funding in the amount of about €4.5 billion every quarter,” Valdis Dombrovskis emphasized.

The Vice-President of the EC clarified that the repayment terms of the €18 billion loan can be further discussed, taking into account the development of the situation in Ukraine.

Valdis Dombrovskis noted that the goal of the European Union was to ensure stable financing of Ukraine during 2023.
