France and Japan will help Ukraine cope with the consequences of the Russian invasion

The President of France Emmanuel Macron said during the meeting with the Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida on January 10, 2023, that both countries would work together to help Ukraine deal with the consequences of a full-scale Russian invasion.

Fumio Kishida began a weeklong tour of Europe and North America in Paris, holding talks with the French President.

The French President thanked the Japanese government for its economic and humanitarian support to Ukraine and stressed that the two countries would work together to help Ukraine and the whole world cope with the consequences of the Russian invasion, especially with the problems of energy and food security.

“We have an ambitious agenda ahead,” Emmanuel Macron said in a joint declaration with Fumio Kishida.

The two leaders also discussed North Korea’s nuclear and missile development.

“Japan can count on our unfailing support to face flagrant breaches to international law from Pyongyang,” noted the French President.

Both leaders pledged to increase bilateral cooperation between France & Japan, in particular in the areas of nuclear energy and renewable energy, as well as car manufacturing and defense.
