“Thus, on the day when the European Parliament recognized it as a state sponsor of terrorism [November 23, 2022 – ed.], the Russian Federation proved the undeniable truth of this definition. Only terrorists do this to people they cannot defeat, so they try to simply destroy them,” noted the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
The Russian missile attack resulted in a temporary blackout of all nuclear power plants, most thermal and hydroelectric plants of Ukraine. Power transmission facilities are also damaged.
As a result, the vast majority of electricity consumers across the country were cut off. Emergency shutdowns occur. The lack of electricity can affect the availability of heat and water supply.
Power engineers are already working and doing everything possible to restore the power supply as soon as possible. But given the extent of the damage, they will need time.
