Russia’s missile attack against Ukraine on November 15 caused damage up to $1B

Danylo Hetmantsev, the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy of Ukraine noted on November 18, 2022, that Russia’s missile attack against Ukraine on November 15, 2022, caused from 0.5 billion to 1 billion US dollars of direct damage to the Ukrainian economy.

“According to our calculations, the attack on November 15 resulted in direct losses to the economy of our state from half to a billion dollars,” said Danylo Hetmantsev.

Danylo Hetmantsev reminded that the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine adjusted its macro forecast in the direction of an increase in the fall in GDP to 39% in October 2022, stressing that Russian missile attacks on Ukraine did not decrease in November 2022, so the fall will continue.

At the same time, the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy of Ukraine emphasized that, in addition to direct losses, there are also indirect losses, when, in particular, enterprises cannot work due to power outages.
