Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that, under the chairmanship of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, a meeting of the Coordinating Council of Ukraine on the Protection and Safety of Children was held on November 14, 2022, at which they discussed, in particular, the issue of the deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia and the return home of all those who were deported.
“These are at least almost 11 thousand children – we know them by name. But these are only those we know about. And in fact, there are more deported children,” the President added.
The meeting was also attended by the ambassadors of the leading states, whom Ukraine called upon to help in the implementation of the task of returning those illegally deported to the territory of Russia.
Last month, the President reported that during the full-scale war, Russia deported more than 1,600,000 citizens from Ukraine.
