Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen received Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba as part of his visit to Phnom Penh (the capital of Cambodia) on November 9, 2022.

“I began my visit to Cambodia with being received by Samdech Techo Prime Minister Hun Sen to build on their dialogue with the President of Ukraine. We focused on bilateral cooperation and global food security. I also congratulated Prime Minister Sen on Cambodia’s Independence Day,” Ukrainian Foreign Minister wrote on Twitter.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Nikolenko noted that this would be the firs- ever visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to Cambodia, and Dmytro Kuleba was the first foreign guest who personally congratulated the Cambodian leader on Cambodia’s Independence Day.
In addition, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reminded that Ukraine would take part in the ASEAN summit for the first time – a powerful association of 10 Southeast Asian countries, and will become the first Central European country to join the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia. This will bring political, military, economic and cultural benefits to the Ukrainian state, businesses and citizens.
