The Embassy of Germany in Ukraine noted on November 8, 2022, on Twitter that Germany would provide €7.6 million to the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) to search for Ukrainians who disappeared as a result of the Russian invasion.

“German support in the investigation of war crimes: Germany provides €7.6 million to the ICMP [International Commission on Missing Persons – ed.] project to help Ukraine find missing persons due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Training of Ukrainian forensic experts and investigators is also planned,” informed the diplomatic mission on Twitter.
According to Oleg Kotenko, the Commissioner on Persons Gone Missing under Special Circumstances, Ukraine’s hotline has received more than 30,000 calls since May 2022. More than 4,300 people were wanted as of the end of September 2022. In addition, 248 children are considered missing in Ukraine.
