The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny noted on November 3, 2022, that during the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation, Ukrainian military destroyed twice as many Russian aircraft as the Soviet Union lost during the 10-year war in Afghanistan.

“Ukrainian troops destroyed twice as many Russian aircraft during the full-scale Russia’s war against Ukraine than the Soviet Union lost during the 10-year war in Afghanistan – 278 Russian aircraft in Ukraine against 118 Soviet aircraft in Afghanistan,” noted the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny.
As the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized, “this war is the same shame for the Russian Federation and will cause its destruction.”
In addition, the Ukrainian army eliminated about 74 thousand Russian soldiers, as well as 258 Russian helicopters from February 24 to November 3, 2022.
