The mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boichenko noted on October 29, 2022, that Russia must pay reparations to occupied Mariupol (a Ukrainian city in the Donetsk region, east of the country).

According to the mayor of Mariupol, the cost of damages is 12.5-14.5 billion dollars.
“Half of the 2,600 apartment buildings have been destroyed. In total, according to our calculations, 33,000 infrastructure objects have been damaged. Russia must pay reparations to our city,” the head of the city emphasized.
Vadym Boichenko added that currently the Russian troops continued to destroy houses in order to eliminate the traces of their war crimes. But crimes are already recorded. Therefore, Russia will not be able to avoid responsibility for its crimes.
Earlier, it was known, that Ukrainian civilians in Russian-occupied Mariupol are not provided with sufficient amount of food and water. There is also a lack of electricity and water supply in the city. People have to survive.
The Ukrainian city of Mariupol has been under full Russian occupation since May 20, 2022.
