“Since their arrival, the Bushmasters have been used extensively by the Ukrainian Armed Forces with more requested by the Ukrainian President, Minister for Defence, and the Ambassador,” the Foreign Minister of Australia noted.
After Ukraine receives 30 additional Bushmasters, the total number of armored vehicles sent to the Armed Forces of Ukraine will reach 90 units.
Also, Australia will send 70 of its soldiers to Britain after Christmas, who will help with the training of Ukrainian soldiers.
“Our soldiers will be part of a large training program in the United Kingdom to help prepare their Ukrainian mates for their struggle against Russia’s unwarranted and unlawful aggression,” Richard Marles noted.
Australia’s total financial support to Ukraine now exceeds $655 million, including $475 million in military aid.
