According to Russian mass media, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, and the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, have agreed to deploy a joint regional grouping of troops as of October 10, 2022.

According to the self-proclaimed President of Belarus, Belarusian troops will be the basis of this regional grouping.
“In connection with the escalation on the western borders of the union state, we agreed on the deployment of a regional grouping of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. The basis (as I have always said) of this grouping is the army, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.”
Lukashenko added that the formation of this group has begun. It has been going on for two days.
“It has been going on for two days, I think. My order was given to start forming this group.”
The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, strongly reacted to Oleksandr Lukashenko’s statement, warning of the consequences.
