The 218th day of the Russia-Ukraine War: official operational information by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on 29.09.2022.

Russia is still concentrating its efforts on attempting to fully occupy the Donetsk oblast and retain the lands it has taken, as well as to obstruct the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ liberating operations in certain directions. The Russian army is performing illegal aerial surveillance while firing Ukrainian soldiers’ positions along the contact line. The Russian Federation’s attacks on calm residential areas and the infrastructure used by civilians are all prohibited by international humanitarian law. The possibility of airstrikes and missile attacks on the entire area of Ukraine still exists.

Russia conducted more than twenty-eight MLRS assaults today, including four missile launches, four airstrikes, and four air attacks.

Russian attacks had an impact on more than twenty Ukrainian communities. They include Myrne, Bakhmut, Kryvyi Rih, Kramatorsk, Mykolayiv, Nikopol, Pavlivka, and Visokopillia. More than ten civilians were wounded as a result of the attack on the Kryvyi Rih thermal power plant in Zelenodolsk city, Ukraine.

There hasn’t been much of a shift in the Volyn and Polissia directions.

The Russian army also used tanks, mortars, barrel and rocket artillery to fire in other directions in Ukraine:

Russian tanks, mortars, and barrel artillery were used to bombard more than thirty-five towns along the contact line in the South Buh direction in Ukraine. Nikopol, Visokopillia, Arkhanhelske, Osokorivka, Ternivka, Bilohirka, Suhyi Stavok, Blahodatne, Olhyne, Lymany, Pravdyne, and Myrne, in particular.

The command of the Russian army continues to employ all possible techniques to enable units that have lost soldiers in action on Ukrainian soil to resume fighting. Thus, the Russian so-called “local authorities” are enlisting and educating two hundred fifty new convicts in the temporarily seized Donetsk area. They will be dispatched in the upcoming days to support the Russian forces that are in advanced positions.

Russian troops keep losing soldiers. Particularly, it was established that Russia’s military equipment and troop concentration in the Kherson region’s Nova Kuban area were destroyed, which also caused munitions to detonate. Defining Russian losses is being done.

According to specific information, the Russian army suffered more than forty casualties and around fifteen fatalities as a consequence of fire damage caused by Russians in the Sofiyivka neighbourhood of the Berdiansky district of the Zaporizhzhia region.

Additionally, in recent days, medical institutions in the city of Starobilsk, Luhansk oblast, have received more than two hundred injured Russian soldiers.

In the vicinity of the communities of Zaytseve, Maiorsk, Vesela Dolyna, Bakhmutske, Odradivka, Kurdiumivka, New York (Donetsk region, Ukraine), Pervomayske, Vyimka, Pavlivka, and Bezimenne, Ukrainian Defense Forces units successfully repulsed Russian attacks today.

The Ukrainian Air Force launched seven attacks throughout the day to assist the land forces in their operations. 6 Russian anti-aircraft missile systems, 10 locations where weapons and military hardware were gathered, and 1 stronghold were reported to have been destroyed. In addition, the Russian UAV was shot down by Ukrainian Armed Forces.
