The Russian mobilization campaign launched in occupied Crimea (south of Ukraine) primarily affects the Crimean Tatars.
According to the data, Crimean Tatars received 80-90% of all army summonses in Crimea.
“According to preliminary estimates, about 90% of the summonses in Crimea were received by Crimean Tatars. At the same time, Crimean Tatars make up 13-15% of the population of the peninsula. Such a scale of mobilization can lead to a hidden genocide of the Crimean Tatars.”
Men are simply taken from their homes to military commissariats. No one wants to participate in a war against their country, to go and kill Ukrainians.
A large number of men and their families leave Crimea due to their unwillingness to fight against Ukraine. People leave for the nearest border countries with Russia: Georgia, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Belarus.
Russia is purposefully destroying the indigenous people of Ukraine, throwing them into a war against their own state.
Uaposition memo: The conscription of residents of the occupied territories to the ranks of the occupying army is prohibited by Art. 51 IV of the Geneva Convention and is a war crime. Forcing citizens of Ukraine to participate in hostilities against their own state is a war crime.
