The 209th day of the Russia-Ukraine War: official operational information by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on 20.09.2022.

The Russian Federation is still concentrating its efforts on completing the capturing of the Donetsk oblast, setting up a defense, and maintaining the invaded lands in Ukraine, as well as disrupting the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ liberation operations in some places. It continuously performs illegal aerial surveillance while firing at Ukrainian forces’ positions along the contact line, reorganizing its troops.

Russian soldiers have violated international humanitarian law, war rules, and customs by launching a dozen of missiles, fifteen airstrikes, and more than fifty six anti-aircraft missiles at targets on Ukrainian soil in the last 24 hours.

Throughout thirty-three Ukrainian communities had their infrastructure destroyed by Russian bombardment over the previous day. These include Nova Odesa, Shyroke, Bilohirsk, Myroliubivka, Maiorsk, Vodiane, Dorozhne, Soledar, Novopil, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolayiv, Oleksandrivka, Snihurivka, and Bila Krynytsya.

The possibility of Russian airstrikes and missile attacks on the entire area of Ukraine still exists.

Regarding the directions of Volyn and Polissya, nothing has altered.

The Russian army also used tanks, mortars, and numerous types of artillery to fire in the following directions in Ukraine:

in the Siverskyi area – in the areas of Kozacha Lopan, Shevchenkove, Derhachi, Kamyanka, Strilecha, Hlyboke, and Dvorichna settlements;

Oleksandrivka, Donetske, Rayhorodok, Shchurove, Kryva Luka, Ozerne, Bilohorivka, Pryshyb, Hryhorivka, and Sivers’k are all in the direction of Kramatorsk;

in the Slobozhanskyi direction – near Kozacha Lopan, Slavhorod, and Riasne;

in the Avdiyivka area – Krasnohorivka, Mariyinka, Novomyhaylivka and Pervomayske;

Maiorsk, Mykolayivka, Verhnokamyianske, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Vesela Dolyna, Odradivka, Vesele, Vyimka, Mykolaiivka Druha, New York (Donetsk region), Bilohorivka, Yuriyivka, Spirne, Zaytseve and Yakovlivka near Bakhmut.

Russia did not take active actions in the Novopavlivskyi and Zaporizhia directions. The settlements of Mala Tokmachka, Chervone, Pavlivka, Hulyaipole, Novopil, Vuhledar, Velyka Novosilka, Mykilske, Mali Shcherbaky, Novomayorske, and Vremivka were attacked by Russian artillery shelling in these areas.

Near thirty Ukrainian towns were bombarded by the Russian army in the direction of South Buh. Oleksandrivka, Novohryhorivka, Zoria, Shevchenkove, Myrne, Shyroke, Bilohirka, Bezimenne, Myroliubivka, Visokopillia, and Olhyne are a few of them.

Russian troops are still occupying some of the areas under the so-called “mobilization” tactics. According to the information that is currently accessible, the previously issued documents regarding the deferral of mobilization for around five hundred employees of the Yenakiyiv Metallurgical Plant have been revoked as of the 14th of September, 2022. Additionally, it was made illegal for men to leave the temporarily annexed Crimean territory without the military commissariats’ approval.

On the 18th of September, 2022, the location of Russia’s military hardware was established in the vicinity of the Novoaidar in the Luhansk region. At that moment, around five dozen pieces of military hardware were destroyed and rendered inoperable.

Additionally, Ukrainian Defense Forces forces caused damage to the region where the Russian personnel was concentrated near the village of Svatove. It is well known that seventy percent of sodiers who were present at the designated facility perished.

Russia is still forming backup forces and replenishing losses. 4 rifle battalions are now being formed, according to the information that is currently available, in the Borzia, Trans-Baikal Region, village headquarters of the 36th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian 29th Combined Arms Army. The Russian Far Eastern Higher Military Command School’s instructors fill officer posts in the aforementioned battalions. The creation of a naval rifle unit based on the Black Sea Higher Naval School in briefly held Sevastopol was previously reported.

The construction of these battalions shows that the Russian military leadership is still using tactics from the Second World War, which points to serious issues and errors.

In the daytime, Defense Forces of Ukraine forces thwarted Russian incursions near the communities of Maiorsk, Vesele, Kurdiumivka, and Novomyhaylivka.

The Ukrainian Defence Forces’ air force has recently targeted twenty-four locations where the Russian army is concentrating troops and military hardware, four locations for anti-aircraft missile systems, and ammo storage.

In addition, 3 Russian unmanned aerial vehicles, a guided air missile, and the Su-25 aircraft were all downed by Ukrainian air defense forces while firing in various directions.

Over the previous day, sixteen Russian objects have sustained fire damage from missile soldiers and artillery. Specifically, in six places where soldiers, weapons, and military equipment are concentrated, seven sites where artillery is concentrated, and three ammo stores. The Russian army’s complete losses are being made clear.
