According to data from the British Ministry of Defence on September 11, 2022, Russia is waging a deliberate disinformation campaign to deflect blame for food insecurity, discredit Ukraine, and minimize resistance to its invasion.

Putin’s statement that only 60,000 tons of Ukrainian grain were sent to developing countries via the sea corridor is not true. Of all exports, 30% went to low- and middle-income countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
“On 7 September 2022, President Putin said that only 60,000 tonnes of the grain exported from Ukraine since August had been sent to developing countries and that the majority had been delivered to EU states. Putin’s claim is not true. According to UN figures, around 30% has been supplied to low and middle-income countries in Africa, the Middle East and Asia.”
The report also mentioned that Russia is operating as part of a targeted disinformation strategy.
“Russia is pursuing a deliberate misinformation strategy as it seeks to deflect blame for food insecurity issues, discredit Ukraine and minimise opposition to its invasion.”
Separately, representatives of British intelligence mentioned the effective counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region. According to their data, the Russian Federation withdrew part of its units, and the fighting is now going on around the strategically important cities of Kupyansk and Izyum.
