The press service of the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic noted on September 9, 2022, that Ukraine received the first tranche of macro-financial assistance in the amount of 1 billion euros in July. In total, the macroeconomic support program of Ukraine amounts to 8 billion euros.

“Following the July agreement on the provision of EUR1 billion, EU finance ministers in Prague agreed to accelerate the next part of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of EUR5 billion.”
Finance Minister Zbynek Stanjura noted that the new loan in the amount of EUR 5 billion will be allocated to “everyday activities of the state and ensure the operation of critical infrastructure in the country: offices, schools or hospitals.”
The Minister will insist on the quick coordination of the provision of three billion euros from the position of the Czech Republic as the presiding country in the EU Council at the next meetings of the EU Council on Economic Affairs. This amount will be divided into loans and grants.
