Adviser to the mayor of Mariupol said on August 30, 2022, on Telegram, that residents of Russian-occupied Mariupol (a city in the east of Ukraine) staged a “hunger riot” when the Red Cross tried to cancel the delivery of humanitarian aid due to a large number of applicants.

According to the adviser, the suspension of humanitarian aid, after which a “hunger riot” began was announced at the distribution point in the Meadow Park, named in honor of Hurov .
“The first real hunger riot. Due to the fact that there is no humanitarian aid from Russian occupiers, the only source of food for many remained the humanitarian aid from the Red Cross. But due to a large number of people, the Red Cross tried to cancel the distribution of humanitarian aid. A real riot arose.”
Adviser to the mayor of Mariupol added that this was just the beginning. The occupiers push people to the limit of survival.
“There will be riots. The consequences of democracy make themselves felt.”
