According to the investigation, on August 20, 2022, at 11:30 a.m., military personnel of the aggressor country, disregarding the norms of international humanitarian law, launched a missile attack on the city of Voznesensk.

“An enemy rocket hit a five-story residential building, 2 entrances to the building were damaged, as well as, private houses and vehicles which were located nearby. According to preliminary information, twelve people were injured, including three children.”

There are no military facilities in this area. Primary investigative actions are carried out by prosecutors of the Voznesensk District Prosecutor’s Office, police and Security Service of Ukraine investigators, and experts. Ammunition fragments were removed.

In addition, debris of the rocket was found in the observation area of the nuclear plant, so it is not excluded that the rocket aimed specifically at the South Ukraine nuclear power plant.

“The very fact of shelling of the surveillance zone of the South Ukraine NPP is another cynical act of Russian nuclear terrorism. After all, fragments of an enemy rocket that hit the house were found on the spot. And it is possible that this missile was aimed specifically at the SUNPP, which the Russian military tried to seize at the beginning of March,” National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine “Energoatom” said.
