Operational information on the 166th day (08.08.2022) of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
The Russian Federation’s positioning in the directions of Ukrainian Volyn and Polissia did not alter much.
In the border regions of the Bryansk and Kursk regions, Russia is still holding units of the Russian Western Military District forces in the Siverskyi direction of Ukraine.
Along the line of contact, Russian occupants inflicted fire damage in the direction of Kharkiv using barrel and rocket artillery. At the towns of Zolochiv, Prudianka, Dementiyivka, Ptomnyk, Ruska Lozova, Ruski and Cherkaski Tyshky, Kutuzivka, Staryi Saltiv, Chuhuiv, and Asiyivka, Russian shots were fired against Ukrainian civil infrastructure.
Russian airstrikes were conducted close to Husarivka and Verkhniy Saltiv. Russia actively engaged in illegal operational-tactical level aerial surveillance with unmanned aerial vehicles.
The Russian army shelled the towns of Velyka Komyshuvakha, Virnopilly, Suligivka, Rydny, Dibrivny, Hrushuvakha, Bohorodichne, Nortsivka, and Dolyna in the direction of Sloviansk. Near Zalyman, Russian airstrikes were reported.
Tank, barrel, and rocket artillery fire from the Russian troops were recorded at Kramatorsk, Siversk, Serebrianka, Hryhorivka, and Spirne in the direction of Kramatorsk. Airstrikes were conducted by the Russian occupants close to Hryhorivka and Ivano-Daryivka.
Russian soldiers engaged in an offensive conflict in the Verkhnokamyanske region in an effort to strengthen their tactical position.
Russian invaders shelled the infrastructure of the Ukrainian villages of Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Soledar, Zaitseve, Yakovlivka, Bilohorivka, and Bakhmutske in the direction of Bakhmut. Near Bakhmut, Yakovlivka, and Zaitseve, Russian aviation is used.
Russia is still bombarding the Ukrainian military and civilian infrastructure in the villages of Novomyhaylivka, Kostiantynivka, Shevchenko, Orihiv, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Vremivka, Novosilka, Bilohiria, Stepove, and Poltavka in the Novopavlivske and Zaporizhia directions. Strikes near Novomykhailivka, Prechystivka, Volodymyrivka, and Novosilka were conducted using Russian aircraft. Russian troops directed aggressive actions in Mariyinka’s and Shevchenko’s directions. With precise fire, Ukrainian forces drove the attackers back.
Russia’s principal efforts in the South Buh direction still center on retaining the occupied locations and obstructing Ukrainian soldiers’ progress. Russian attackers actively use illegal drones for reconnaissance.
Russian units conducted tank, rocket, and barrel bombardments along the whole line of engagement. Additionally, Russia conducted airstrikes on the Olhyne, Novohryhorivka, and Andriyivka neighbourhoods.
The Russian Federation’s ship group continues to carry out the designated missions in the Ukrainian territory of the Black Sea. There is still a possibility of Russian missile attacks on military installations and essential infrastructure in all of Ukraine.
Soldiers from Ukraine are resolutely holding the line, suffering losses from Russia, and preparing for any adjustments to the operating environment.
