The Ministry of Defense of Turkey confirmed on August 2 the arrival of the Razoni carrier with Ukrainian grain – the first vessel to depart within the framework of the “grain agreement” between Ukraine, Turkey, the UN and Russia.

“The RAZONI dry cargo, loaded in Odesa, departed from the Ukrainian port yesterday, reached the entrance to the Black Sea from the Bosphorus Strait and anchored at the designated place of arrival,” the Turkish Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The Razoni, now anchored off the mouth of the Bosphorus, will be inspected on August 3 by a delegation from a special joint coordination centre set up last week in Istanbul under the grain export deal and staffed by civilian and military officials from Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, and the UN.
After the inspection, the ship must deliver a cargo of 26,000 tons of corn to the port of Tripoli in Lebanon.
This is the first time since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion that a grain carrier has left the Ukrainian port of Odesa. This became possible thanks to the agreements reached in Istanbul with the mediation of Turkey and the UN.
