Operational information on July 08, 2022 regarding the Russian invasion of Ukraine

The heroic resistance of the citizens of Ukraine against a Russian military invasion continues on the 135th day.

Units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus are carrying out reconnaissance in the Volyn-Polissia directions. They also strengthen countermeasures against UAVs and other technical means of reconnaissance. Belarus’s southern territory has been closed to air traffic until October 7. Since February 24, 2018, civil aircraft flights have been prohibited.

The situation does not change in the Siverskyi direction. However, in Kharkiv region, Russian soldiers are conducting defensive operations in order to strengthen their tactical position. The Russian army shelled Kharkiv and its surroundings with rocket and barrel artillery as well as areas of settlements such as Udy, Lebiazhe, Pishchane, Pytomnyk, Zamulivka, Petrivka, Mospanove, Svitlychne, Peremoha, Korobochkyne, Slatyne, Shevelivka, Nove, Verkhniy Saltiv, Bairak and Dementiyivka. Ukrainian defenders repelled Russia’s attacks twice near Dementiyivka and drove them back. Near Petrivka, the Russian army launched an aerial attack.

Russian troops are trying to improve their tactical position in the Sloviansk direction. The territories of Krasnopillia, Dolyna, Husarivka, Novopavlivka, Chervony, Virnopillia, and Mazanivka were bombarded by Russia with rocket, barrel, and mortar artillery. Fire damage caused Russian soldiers to cease their offensive activities in the Bohorodychne area. With losses, the Russian occupiers withdrew.

The Russian army attacked civilian and military infrastructures in Sivers’k, Serebrianka and Karpivka, Sloviansk, and Kryva Luka. An airstrike was made near Tetianivka by Russia. Russian troops also attacked civilian and military infrastructure in the Kramatorsk direction. They launched airstrikes in the vicinity of Berestove, Pokrovske and with the help of artillery support and operational-tactical aircraft, Russian invaders attempted to launch an offensive near the settlements of Spirne or Ivano-Daryivka. They were defeated and withdrew. Fighting continues in the vicinity of Vesela Dolyna.

The contact line is being occupied by shelling from mortars and barrel artillery in the Avdiyivka, Novopavlivka, Zaporizhia and Kurahivka directions. Near Novoandriyivka, the Russian army launched airstrikes. Russian units attempted to conduct offensive actions in Velyke Artakove in South Buh. The Russian invaders were quickly stopped by Ukrainian soldiers who quickly repelled the attempt. The region is still at risk of being hit with Russian missiles.

The naval unit of Russia continues to operate in the waters of Azov and Black seas. Meanwhile, civilian shipping continues to be blocked by the Russian Federation in the northern part of the Black Sea.
