“They (Russians – ed.) have already destroyed, damaged or occupied many of our plants and installations. In particular, when we talk about the production of electricity from the wind, 90% of the power plants are occupied or destroyed,” Galushchenko noted.
In addition, 30% of solar plants, 30.1% of cogeneration plants, as well as the Zaporizhzhya NPP were destroyed or seized.
Galushchenko called on European partners to help Ukrainian cities, which suffered significant destruction due to Russia’s actions, to restore the energy sector using “green” technologies.
He emphasized that even now Ukraine’s energy mix is 70% carbon-free.
The vast majority of wind power plants in Ukraine were built in the south of the country with the highest wind potential – in the Zaporizhia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions, where active hostilities take place.
Damage caused by the Russian occupiers to all Ukrainian and international businesses in the territory of Ukraine must be compensated through international courts.
