The leaders of the G7 have condemned a deadly Russian missile attack on a crowded Ukrainian shopping mall as an “abominable” war crime.

At least 18 people were killed due to the missile attack on Kremenchuk mall, while 59 were wounded.
“Indiscriminate attacks on innocent civilians constitute a war crime,” the G7 statement said.
Ukraine accused Russia of deliberately targeting civilians, with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy calling it “one of the most brazen terrorist acts in European history.”
Ukraine’s air force command said the mall was hit by two long-range X-22 missiles fired from Tu-22M3 bombers that flew from Russia’s Kaluga region.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, speaking from the G7 gathering in the Bavarian Alps, said the Kremenchuk attack “once again shown the depth of cruelty and barbarism into which the Russian leader fell.”
“Putin must realize that his behaviour will do nothing but strengthen the resolve that the UK and every other G7 country stand by Ukraine for as long as it takes,” he said.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the world was “horrified”, while UN chief Antonio Guterres’s office condemned the attack as “totally deplorable”.
The President of the European Commission Charles Michel slammed Russian for what he called a “horrendous and indiscriminate” attack on Kremenchuk.
